The Indonesian Embassy hosts an exceptional culinary event in Paris

Wagyu beef, an exceptional meat for Rendang, the best dish in the world, exclusively at DJAKARTA BALI. The Parisian institution of Indonesian gastronomy had to welcome Chef William Wongso in its kitchens during his visit to Paris.

Chef William Wongso is an Indonesian chef and culinary consultant specializing in the cuisine of his country, as well as Asian and European cuisine. An exceptional meeting

And to pay tribute to this standard of cuisine from the archipelago of 17.000 islands, Djakarta Bali, the oldest Indonesian restaurant in Paris, will be hosting an exceptional evening on Thursday October 17, 2019 from 7:30pm, during which chef William Wongso, will take control of the Parisian institution's stoves, to introduce the French to his signature dish: Rendang Wagyu, a modern version of this emblematic dish prepared with this exceptional beef from Kobe, which will be offered as part of a tasting menu.

A signature dish

Every year, CNN Travel, one of the world's most influential publications on tourism and gastronomy, compiles a ranking of the best recipes on the planet, based on a survey of its hundreds of thousands of readers.
For several years in a row, it's an Indonesian dish that's taken the crown: beef rendang.

Originally from Padang, a coastal town in West Sumatra, rendang is a dish prepared from beef, simmered very slowly and for a very long time in a heady sauce made from coconut milk and a spice paste composed mainly of chili, garlic, ginger, lemongrass and other spices.

This emblematic dish from the Minangkabau ethnic group has become one of the most popular in Indonesia, and even... with its Malaysian neighbors!
